Since Saturday’s horrific tragedy in our family of communities here, my email box has been flooded with concerned and loving notes. You have no idea how much that’s meant to us. To give a more broad update to those who were unaware…
Saturday, February 11, Pontsho Victor Boshomane, one of the community members of our brother community, drowned. (I’ll explain “brother community” in another post… many are asking). Tons of bricks fell down on so many of us that day. As these things go, it’s hard for each of us for different reasons and at different levels.
But.
We believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe that all through history, resurrection has been laced in the fibers of everything. Life will emerge from tragedy and God still sits on the throne above all thrones. And from this space, we claim our hope.
So how are we? We are coming through this well. How am I? I’ve had very mixed and weird emotions (normal I’m told). There has been guilt, anger, depression, sadness, rationale thinking… that pretty well boxes it in. In the end of this, life continues and God continues to reclaim all things here. So we keep our plow down and keep going. We are not victims, we are harvesters.
Thank you all for the love and support along this way. We always pick our plows up again.
